Q.How much is a boiler service, and what's included?
A full annual boiler service is a fixed £120 and takes around 45–60 minutes. A Gas Safe engineer inspects the boiler, checks it's running safely and efficiently, and issues you a written report at the end. There's no vague hourly rate — the price is the price.
Q.What does an emergency call-out cost, and are you really 24/7?
Yes — our emergency line is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for no-heat and breakdown situations. An emergency visit is £99 for a one-hour attendance including diagnosis, and our engineers carry common parts on the van so a lot of faults are fixed the same day.
Q.Which boiler brands do you install?
We supply and fit Vaillant, Worcester Bosch, Baxi and Ideal boilers. After a free home survey we'll recommend the right make and model for your home and how you use it, install it (usually in 1–2 days), and register the manufacturer warranty for you so the cover is live from the start.
Q.I'm a landlord — can you handle gas safety certificates?
Yes. A landlord Gas Safety Certificate (CP12) is a fixed £75 and is the mandatory annual inspection every rented property needs. It covers the boiler, flue, pipework and gas pressure, and the certificate is issued the same day. For portfolios we can cover multiple properties and put you on a landlord service plan that bundles the CP12 in.
Q.What is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, and can I get it?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a government grant of up to £7,500 towards the cost of installing a heat pump. Because Neater Heat is MCS accredited, we can install to the standard the scheme requires and signpost you through the grant. We'll cover eligibility during a free, no-obligation heat pump consultation.
Q.Do you fit heat pumps and solar, or just boilers?
Both, and a lot in between. Alongside gas and oil boilers we install air source heat pumps (Vaillant, typically within a few days), ground source heat pumps, solar PV panels with or without battery storage, and smart heating controls. We also service and maintain heat pump and renewable systems on ongoing contracts.
Q.How long does a heat pump or solar installation take?
An air source heat pump is usually installed within a few days. Ground source heat pumps take longer because of the groundwork involved. Solar PV is a full design-and-install service, sized to your usage — with battery storage matched to your array and a smart energy-monitoring app included.
Q.Is there a service plan so I'm not paying out in one go?
Yes. Our homeowner and landlord service plans start from £18.50 a month and include an annual boiler service, unlimited 24/7 emergency call-outs, and parts and labour with no excess. The landlord tier adds the annual CP12 gas safety certificate.
Q.Do you take on commercial heating work?
We do — commercial boiler installation with full commissioning and building-regulations compliance, servicing on flexible maintenance contracts, emergency repairs with common spares on hand, and annual gas safety checks for commercial landlords, including multi-property portfolios.
